Loan Processor Job Description

 

Job Title: Loan Processor

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Loan Operations Manager

 

SUMMARY

A Loan Processor evaluates and verifies loan applications to ensure accuracy and compliance with lending guidelines. They gather and prepare necessary documentation, communicate with applicants, and work closely with Loan Officers to facilitate the approval and disbursement of loans.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Two years of experience in loan processing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in financial services preferred.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • NMLS ID required upon hire.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Prepares and processes Ag/Commercial/Consumer loans while ensuring documents are properly completed and accurate according to applicable state and federal regulations and internal loan policies and procedures.
  • Inputs loan maintenance on the various computer systems verifying its accuracy.
  • Processes documents for titles, insurance and mortgage recordings.
  • Releases liens on titles and mortgages as requested.
  • Processes draw requests verifying draw is within the proper limits for customer.
  • Maintains records and tracking documentation (i.e. ticklers) to ensure information is up to-date; monitor loan credit files to ensure proper documentation is obtained.
  • Communicates proactively and professionally with borrowers and third parties to ensure loan related tasks are completed according to established deadlines and regulations and/or process requirements.
  • Executes UCC for recordings, monitor existing UCCs for continuations, and process termination statements on paid loans.
  • Prepares and process notices and communications related to customer loans.
  • Processes routine customer loan transactions and respond to loan relationship inquiries as needed.
  • Proactively seeks to better meet changing customer needs, bank growth objectives and department profitability benchmarks within an evolving regulatory framework by remaining current on the application of existing and newly emerging loan products, financial services and technologies.
  • Scan and/or index loan related documentation accurately. 
  • Excels in the navigating of software programs to efficiently assist loan officers in locating documents.
  • Pays all recording and loan fees and balance recording accounts.
  • Pulls credit reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. HOURS

The hours for this position are as follows:

M-F: 8:00-4:30 with a 1-Hour Lunch
